Firm Overview

Arroyo Engineering Solutions, Inc. was originally formed as Nelson Consultants in 1978 by Jim Nelson.  The firm was founded initially to provide surveying, mapping, engineering, and related legal services to residential and commercial land developers in central and northern Los Angeles County.  Nelson successfully provided these services for 27 years.  In 2004 Mr. Nelson determined that a fundamental change in the company’s market base was needed to provide insulation from the volatility of the residential land development marketplace.  Specifically, Mr. Nelson decided to investigate expansion into the municipal services sector. 

In November, 2005, Arroyo Engineering Solutions, Inc. was formed, with the goal of leveraging Nelson Consultants’ legacy, combined with strategic hires, into an evolved entity dedicated to serving both the public and private civil engineering market place in Southern California and Southern Nevada.
